Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C., is a television anchor. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell became a reporter for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. 1996, she joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent by NBC News two year later. 1980 began her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. She was made Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994, she was named chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell hosted and was a panelist at the TV show Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist during the presidential debates in 1988 in the debate between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell won the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005 from the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg Award in 2004 to recognize her efforts to protect First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering in the White House in 1981-1988, and during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Mitchell covered a range of noteworthy stories including arm control, budget tax reform and the Iran-contra scandal and went on numerous trips together with the president Reagan to summits alongside Mikhail Gorbachev and other world top leaders.
